Are personal safety alarms effective, Personal safety alarms are small devices that emit a loud noise that is activated by the user, this noise is about 130 db which is significantly louder than a whistle. With that being said they can be a valuable tool in scaring off an attacker, the last thing an attacker wants is to call attention to themselves, Theses alarms are perfect for the college campus or for night shift workers.
Of course there are limitations to these devices such as if the user is in a remote area or the device runs out of power but even with the limitations they can be a very useful in many situations.
